2016: The Year in Highlights

Jan 2017

2016 has made some rather surprising headlines to say the least – but here at Feeding the Fish we celebrated our 20th year. Now we look back on the amazing year by celebrating the incredible shows we’ve performed at, the places we’ve travelled to and the new acts that we’ve launched last year…

We escaped the UK winter and travelled to the beautiful Lahore to perform for Oye Hoye crisp launch with J&S Event Management then more locally we popped up the road to EMC3‘s London office to perform a special Supernova

We began February by performing our LED juggling act at Viva Las Magic, an evening of cabaret and comedy, hosted by the talented Christian Lee at London’s Hippodrome Casino – one of the city’s hottest venues. We then dashed to Saudi to perform at the product launch of the new Toyota Prius with Video Suits®

In March we performed at Wembley stadium for the UK launch of Vauxhall’s new Astra which took place alongside alongside the England v. Netherlands game, and days later we headed to the Birmingham NEC arena to launch a completely new act at the Gadget Show Live 2016: Zoom. This new act took LED entertainment to the next level by incorporating our Video Suits dance with LED Hoverboards. Watch its world-debut at Gadget Show Live on Channel 5.

We performed some Feeding The Fish classics in April – bringing our LED spinning act Kaleidoscope to Deer Park Hotel to launch their new Orangery, and travelling to Venice to perform Supernova for an event with Artscena

In May we teamed up with Transpennine express to support their digital campaign #wherenext, where we spelt out in lights the key words of cities chosen by its residents.

June was a pretty spectacular month. We performed a special show of Supernova on CBBC’s Blue Peter and, as a result, we got a silver Blue Peter badge. We then headlined Glastonbury Festival’s Circus and Theatre area, dragging our LED Hoverboards through what organizer Michael Eavis described as the muddiest Glastonbury to date.

We are your Circus Big Top headliners at #Glastonbury – 00:30 tonight and performing all weekend

July was similarly jam-packed as we performed Kaleidoscope in Katara Cultural Village, Qatar to celebrate Eid 2016. We then performed for four nights at Henley Festival and ended the month performing with the ever-brilliant Festival of the Spoken Nerd for An Evening of Unnecessary Detail at the Backyard Theatre in Bethnal Green.

In August we continued our year of Festivals at Crawley Circus fest, and headed to Belgium to perform for MEDIALAAN’s experiential television event where we featured in a simulated version of Belgium’s Got Talent.

September took us back to Pakistan to perform for Total Parco’s Brand Event 2016, we finished our run of UK festivals at Maui Waui Festival in Suffolk, we flew to South France to perform at the launch of the new Peugeot 3008 & 5008 at the fabulous Cannes Palais and finally flew to Seychelles to perform for a top secret private event… We also launched our newest festive act Glide About!

Instead of settling down for winter we kept the sunshine with us in spirit at least with a performance at the Solaire Direct Gala dinner in Paris. Solaire Direct is a global leader in solar and renewable energy, a subject close to our hearts (especially with our links to Arcola Energy.)

Our Video Suits took to the ice to open Canary Wharf’s Winter Ice Rink Luminosity  in collaboration with Robert Burgerman and we celebrated York Venturefest by performing Zoom live.

We celebrated Christmas performing two shows – Kaleidoscope and Zoom – on Rai Uno’s Zechinno D’Oro, a children’s talent show raising money for Italy’s Operazione Pane broadcast on Christmas Eve. And finally, we happily counted down to the New Year with the celebrity elite by performing at The Rah Rah Room – formerly The Pigalle Club – in London’s salubrious Piccadilly.
